Registration of postal articles
(1)
The sender of a postal article may, subject to the other provisions of this Act, have the article registered at the post office at which it is posted and require a receipt therefor and the Minister may, with the approval of His
Majesty the Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan, by notification published in the
Gazette direct that, in addition to any postage chargeable under this Act, such fees as are fixed by the notification shall be paid on account of the registration of postal articles.
(2)
In the event of the loss of any registered postal article while in the custody of the Department, the Postmaster General may pay an indemnity in accordance with the provisions of the Convention regulating the affairs of the Universal Postal Union at the time the loss occurred.
