These Regulations shall not apply to seafarers serving on board -
of Merchant Shipping (Standards of Training, Certification and Watchkeeping) Regulations, 2002

Section 4
{a) ships belonging to Royal Brunei Navy, Royal Brunei Police Force and other agencies operating ships on governmental non-commercial service;
however, persons serving on board such ships shall meet the requirements of these Regulations so far as is reasonable and practicable;
(bJ fishing vessels;
{c)
pleasure yachts not engaged in trade; or
(dJ wooden ships of primitive build.
