of Probate and Administration Act
The Probate Officer may in accordance with the pro-General visions of this Act-

(a)
issue grants of probate or letters of adminis-tration in respect of the estates of deceased per-sons having assets within Brunei;

(b)
without personally taking out administra-tion of the estate of a deceased person, make such orders and give such relief in connection therewith as the nature of the case may require, in respect of any of the following questions or matters -
(i)
any question affecting the rights or interests of any person claiming to be creditor, devisee, legatee, next-~f-kin or cestui que trust;
(ii)
the ascertainment of any class of creditors, legatees, devisees, next-of-kin or other in-terested persons;
(iii)
the furnishing of any particular accounts by the executors or adthinistrators or trustees, and the vouching (where necessary) of such accounts;
(iv)
the payment to the Probate Officer of any money in the hands of executors or adminis-trators or trustees;
(v)
directing the executors or administrators or trustees to do or abstain from doing any par-ticular act in their character as such executors or administrators or trustees;
(vi)
the appr~val of any sale, purchase, comprom-ise or other transaction; and
(vii)
any question arising in the administration of the estate or trust.
