The Probate Officer shall have, subject to the provi-sions of this Act or any other written law relating to the probate and administration of the estates of deceased per-sons, the same powers and his grants and orders the same effect in Brunei, and in relation to the estates in Brunei of

deceased persons, as the High Court in England in its prob-ate jurisdiction:

Provided that the Probate Officer shall have no jurisdic-tion to entertain any probate matter which would not be classified as non-contentious or common from probate busi-ness, except such matters as may be prescribed by the Chief

Justice in an order published in the Gazette.
