( ll A holder of any certificate issued by the Director under these
of Merchant Shipping (Standards of Training, Certification and Watchkeeping) Regulations, 2002
Regulations may apply for a duplicate of the certificate, provided he proves to the satisfaction of the Director that he has, without fault on his part, lost or been deprived of the certificate already issued to him.
(2)
Such application shall, upon payment of the prescribed fee, be made in such form and manner and accompanied by such documents, photographs and particulars as the Director may determine.
(3)
Fees shall be exempted for replacement of lost or damaged certificate due to fire on board the ship or total loss of the ship.
(4)
The Director shall, if he is satisfied, issue a duplicate certificate to the applicant as soon as may be practicable but not later than 6 months from the date of application.
