Section 24

If a relative or a friend of a person confined in a place of safe custody makes an application under section 325(1) of the Criminal

Procedure Code (Chapter 7) for that person to be delivered over to his care and custody, that relative or friend shall give a copy of the application to the officer in charge.

Upon receiving the application or a copy of the application (as the case may be), the Board and the officer in charge or any officer authorised by him shall examine the person and make such recommendation for the purposes of section 325(1) of the Criminal Procedure Code (Chapter 7)

whether in their judgment that person could be delivered over to the care and custody of the relative or friend and that he may, subject to such conditions as the Board may determine, be discharged.
