Section 18H

Where a police officer believes on reasonable grounds that domestic violence has been committed or is likely to be committed by any person against a family member and that it is necessary for the protection of the family member for the person to be detained until a protection order or expedited order is obtained, the officer may without warrant, arrest such person and every person so arrested shall be taken to a police station.

Such person shall thereafter be dealt with under section 33 of the

Criminal Procedure Code (Chapter 7).
