Section 139

Any person who contravenes or fails to comply with any provision of this Act or direction given or requirement imposed thereunder for which no special penalty is provided is guilty of an offence and liable on conviction to a fine not exceeding $2,000, imprisonment not exceeding 6 months or both.

A sentence of imprisonment may be pronounced if the fine imposed under this Act is not paid but the sentence of imprisonment shall not exceed half of the sentence of imprisonment provided for the offence or 7 days if the offence is punishable with a fine only.
