Section 49
(1)
If a detained person escape by breach of a Eflscapes and

place of detention or otherwise out of custody, he connec᪽ed may be retaken in the same manner as a person con-therewith.

Brunei may be retaken on an escape.
(2)
Any person who is guilty of the offence of so escaping or of attempting to escape, or of aiding or attempting to aid any such detained persons so to escape, shall be deemed to have committed an offence against the law of the State of Brunei, and may be tried and punished accordingly.
