Article 20
Emoluments of His Majesty who has abdicated
of Constitutional Matters II - Succession and Regency Proclamation, 1959
In any case in which His Majesty the Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan shall have abdicated under this Part, he shall be entitled —
(a)
to such monthly allowance for life from the revenues of
Brunei Darussalam as his lawful Successor may determine, which allowance shall not be less than one-fourth part of the sum fixed for his monthly allowance when he was the reigning Sultan; and
(b)
if he does not possess of his own right a house deemed by his lawful Successor to be suitable to his station, to the right to be provided by Brunei Darussalam, for his own personal use during his lifetime, with a suitable place of residence, either within or outside
Brunei Darussalam.
