(1)
Any —
(a)
registered society or officer or member thereof wilfully neglecting or refusing to do any act or to furnish any information required for the purposes of this Act by the Registrar or other person duly authorised by him in that behalf; or
(b)
person wilfully or without reasonable excuse disobeying any summons, requisition or lawful written order issued under the provisions of this Act, or failing to furnish any information lawfully required from him by a person authorised to do so under the provisions of this Act, is guilty of an offence against this Act.
(2)
Every offence referred to in subsection (1) shall be punishable by a fine of $2,000 and, in the case of a continuing offence, to a further fine of $100 for each day during which the offence continues; and in the case of a second or subsequent offence it shall be punishable by a fine of $8,000 and, in the case of a continuing offence, to a further fine of $200 for each day during which the offence continues.
