Section 55
(1)
No person other than a registered society shall trade or carry on business under any name or title which contains the word “Co-operative”

without the consent of His Majesty the Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan in
Council:
Provided that nothing in this section shall apply to the use by any person or his successor in interest of any name or title under which he traded or carried on business at the commencement of this Act.
(2)
Any person who contravenes the provisions of this section is guilty of an offence and liable on conviction to a fine of $2,000 and, in the case of a continuing offence, to a further fine of $100 for each day during which the offence continues.
