(1)
If a child is examined or treated pursuant to sections 15 and 16, the protector or police officer who authorises such examination or treatment, the medical officer who examines or treats such child, and all persons acting in aid of such medical officer, shall not incur any liability at law by reason only that a child is examined or treated pursuant to these sections.
(2)
Nothing contained in subsection (1) shall relieve a medical officer from liability in respect of the examination or treatment of a child which liability he would have been subject to had the examination or treatment been carried out or administered with the consent of the guardian of the child or person having authority to consent to the examination or treatment.
