Section 16
(1)
It shall be the duty of all police officers and headmen to obtain information of every birth and death within their respective areas, and respecting the father or mother of every child born in their respective areas, and respecting the occupier of any house in their respective areas in which any birth or death may take place, and to give notice thereof to the Deputy
Registrar of the registration area.
(2)
Any police officer or headmen who, knowing such particulars, shall wilfully neglect or omit to give notice thereof to the Deputy Registrar is guilty of an offence and liable on conviction to a fine of $250.
