Appointment of Syariah High Court Judges

Section 10
(1)
His Majesty the Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan may, on the advice of the President of the Majlis and after consultation with the Majlis, appoint
Judges of the Syariah High Court.
(2)
A person is qualified to be appointed under subsection (1) if —
(a)
he is a citizen of Brunei Darussalam; and
(b)
he —
(i)
has, for a cumulative period of not less than 7 years prior to his appointment, served as either a Judge of a
Syariah Subordinate Court, or Kadi, or Registrar, or
Syariah Courts

Syar’ie Prosecutor, or in more than one of such capacities; or
(ii)
is a person learned in Hukum Syara’.
