Section 41
Legal Committee
of Religious Council and Kadis Courts Act
(1)
There shall be a Legal Committee of the Majlis, consisting of the
Mufti, not less than two other Members of the Majlis, and not less than six other fit and proper persons who may be members of the Majlis or not.
(2)
The members of the Legal Committee, other than the Mufti, shall be appointed by His Majesty the Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan for such period as he may deem fit. His Majesty the Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan may at any time revoke any such appointment. Notice of every such appointment shall be published in the Gazette.
(3)
The Mufti shall be Chairman of the Legal Committee. In his absence, His Majesty the Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan may appoint a
Chairman.
(4)
The Chairman and four other members of the Legal Committee shall form a quorum.

(5)
Subject to any written law, the Legal Committee shall have power to regulate its own procedure.
(6)
The members of the Legal Committee are deemed to be public servants as defined by the Penal Code (Chapter 22).
