Section 17
Power to obtain particulars etc.
(1)
The Authority may, by notice in writing to any person whom the
Authority considers to be capable of giving any particulars, information or document, require the person to give such particulars, information or document to the Authority in such form and manner, and within such period, as may be specified in the notice.
(2)
Notwithstanding section 4, the duty to comply with a notice given under subsection (1) is not affected by any obligation as to secrecy or other restriction on disclosure, whether imposed by written law or otherwise.
(3)
Any person who, without reasonable cause, contravenes a notice given under subsection (1) is guilty of an offence and liable on conviction to a fine not exceeding $10,000, imprisonment for a term not exceeding 3
a months or both.
