Section 90
Electrical installations shall be such that-
of Merchant Shipping (Safety Convention) Regulations, 2003
(a)
all electrical auxiliary services necessary for maintaining the ship in normal operational and habitable conditions shall be ensured without recourse to the emergency source of electrical power;
(b} electrical services essential for safety shall be ensured under various emergency conditions; and
(c)
the safety of passengers, crew and ship from electrical hazards shall be ensured.

The Director shall take appropriate steps to ensure uniformity in the implementation and application of this Part in respect of electrical installations.*
