(aJ make an entry in the official log-book recording the date of receipt of the notice; and

(bJ give notice of appeal to the Director not later than 7 days after the receipt of the notice, provided that if it is not practicable to give notice within that period, it shall be given as soon as practicable thereafter and the reason for the delay shall be recorded in the official log-book.
