Production of transit permits
of Hazardous Waste (Control of Export, Import and Transit) Act
(1)
This section applies if the Director or an authorised officer has reasonable grounds for suspecting that a person (the suspected person) —
(a)
intends to carry out a transit proposal;
(b)
is carrying out a transit proposal; or
(c)
has carried out a transit proposal.
(2)
The Director or an authorised officer may require the suspected person to produce, or to produce evidence of the existence and contents of, a transit permit authorising the carrying out of the transit proposal.

Any suspected person who refuses or fails, without reasonable excuse, to comply with the requirement is guilty of an offence and liable on conviction to a fine not exceeding $3,000.
