Sale of fish or other articles of perishable nature
(1)
Any fish or other article of a perishable nature seized under this
Act may, on the direction of the Director, be destroyed or sold and the proceeds of the sale shall —
(a)
be held to abide the result of any prosecution or claim;
(b)
where there is no prosecution or claim, be paid to the person (if known) from whom the fish was seized, or otherwise shall be held for a period of one month from the date of such sale at the end of which period it is deemed to be forfeited.
(2)
The Government is not liable to any person for any deterioration, howsoever caused, in the quality of any fish or other article seized under this Act.
