Section 147
(1)
A person who has been arrested by any authorised officer may be released on bail or on his own bond granted by any law enforcement agency.
(2)
The provisions of Chapters XXXV and XXXVI of the Criminal Procedure Code
(Chapter 7) shall apply to any bail or bond granted under this section; and for the purpose of the Criminal Procedure Code (Chapter 7), any reference to “officer”, “police officer” or “police officer not below the rank of inspector” shall be read to include any authorised officer.
