Section 26
(1)
If a child care centre believes on reasonable grounds that a child is physically or emotionally injured as a result of being ill-treated, neglected, abandoned or exposed, or is sexually abused, it shall immediately inform a protector.
(2)
Any child care centre which fails to comply with subsection (1)
is guilty of an offence and liable on conviction to a fine not exceeding
$5,000, imprisonment for a term not exceeding 2 years or both.
(3)
In this section, “child care centre” means a child care centre licensed under the Child Care Centres Act (Chapter 218).
