Section 10
(1)
The Board shall, with the approval of the Minister, appoint a Chief
Executive Officer on such terms and conditions as the Board may determine.
(2)
The Chief Executive Officer shall be the chief administrative and academic officer of the Institute and shall be responsible for —
(a)
the proper administration and management of the Institute in accordance with the policy of the Institute;
(b)
the collaboration, communication and liaison with the
Government and other industry sectors;
(c)
the academic and research management of the Institute in accordance with the policy of the Institute; and
(d)
the overall discipline of the fellows, officers and employees of the Institute, and for those purposes the Chief Executive Officer shall, subject to this Act, have all such powers as are necessary or advantageous and proper.
(3)
If the Chief Executive Officer is temporarily absent from
Brunei Darussalam, or is temporarily unable to perform his duties, by reason of illness or otherwise, another person may be appointed by the Minister to act in place of the Chief Executive Officer during any such period of absence from duty.

(4)
The Minister may, from time to time, appoint and employ on such terms and conditions as he may determine such other employees, consultants and agents as may be necessary for the effective performance of its functions.
