Action to be at risk and expense of owner
of Animal (Diseases and Quarantine) Act
(1)
Any action taken under the provisions of this Act or of any regulations, order or direction made or given thereunder in respect of any animal, carcase, article, building or conveyance shall be at the risk of the owner thereof.
(2)
No liability shall attach to the Director or to any officer acting under the direction of the Director in respect of any expense, loss, damage or delay arising in or from the lawful exercise of the powers under this Act.

(1)
If a person to whom any of the provisions of this Act applies or to whom any direction or order is given under this Act fails to comply with such provision, direction or order, then, without prejudice to any proceedings that may be instituted against such person for such non-compliance, the
Director or an authorised officer may perform any act or take any measure as is required by the provision, direction or order to be performed or taken and recover any costs and expenses reasonably incurred by him from that person.
(2)
In exercising the powers conferred by subsection (1), the Director or authorised officer may, without warrant, enter any premises or conveyance and, if the circumstances so warrant, may use such force as may be necessary to effect such entry.
