Where any property is devised or bequeathed to a trustee without any express limitation of the estate to be taken by such trustee and the beneficial interest in such property or in the surplus rents and profits of the property, the property shall not be given to any person for life, or where such beneficial interest is given to any person for life but the purposes of the trust

may continue beyond the life of such person, the devise or bequest shall be construed to vest in or pass to such trustee the fee simple or other right to the whole legal estate or interest in such property which the testator had power to dispose of by will and not an estate determinable when the purposes of the trust is satisfied.
