Permit to import species

Section 11
The Director may, after consultation with the appropriate management authority and scientific authority, grant a permit to import any specimen of any species listed in Appendix I to an applicant, if those authorities are satisfied that —
(a)
the import of it is not detrimental to the survival of that species;
(b)
the proposed recipient of that specimen is suitably equipped to house and care for it;
(c)
it is not to be used primarily for commercial purposes; and
(d)
permission to export or re-export that specimen has been granted by the relevant authority of the country of export or re-export.
