Section 17
Affiliation outside Brunei Darussalam
(1)
Except with the consent of the Minister, no registered trade union shall be affiliated or connected with any trade union or other organisation which is established outside Brunei Darussalam in such manner as to affect the freedom of action or independence of the trade union or so as to place the trade union which is established within Brunei Darussalam, or any of its members, in any way or in respect of any matter under the control of the trade union or other organisation which is established outside
Brunei Darussalam.
(2)
Every trade union so affiliated or connected which has not obtained the consent of the Minister to be so affiliated or connected, or from which any such consent has been withdrawn, is deemed to be an unlawful society within the meaning and for all the purposes of the Societies Act
(Chapter 203).
