Opening note
Citation
This Act may be cited as the Territorial Waters of Brunei Darussalam
Act.
Breadth of territorial waters
It is hereby declared that the breadth of the territorial waters of
Brunei Darussalam shall be 12 nautical miles.
Publication of map
So soon as may be possible or thereafter from time to time as he may consider necessary, His Majesty the Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan shall cause to be published a large scale map indicating the low water marks, the baselines, the outer limits and the areas of the territorial waters of Brunei
Darussalam.
Evidence
In any proceedings before any court in Brunei Darussalam, if question arises as to whether an act or omission has taken place within or outside the territorial waters of Brunei Darussalam, a certificate of that effect purported to be signed by or on behalf of the Minister shall be received in evidence and shall be prima facie proof of the facts stated therein.
Any reference to the territorial waters of Brunei Darussalam in any written law shall be construed subject to the provisions of this Act.
