Section 12

Subject to the provisions of this Act, a recruiting officer may enlist such eligible persons who have attained the age of 18 years into the Armed

Forces and the Reserve Regiment in such manner and to serve in the Armed

Forces or the Reserve Regiment or in any unit of either of such forces for such period or periods as the competent authority may determine and generally subject to such terms and conditions of service as may be prescribed.
