Stores may be classified differently in Departments depending on the use made of them e.g. stationery in the majority of Depart-ments will be regarded as consumable whereas in the Department of the Government Printer the main stocks of stationery are classified 102

under Regulation 505.1. 'being held on Stock Ledger charge. Bulk stocks of petrol may be an item of Allocated Stores in certain Depart-ments such as the Fire Brigade or Police but in the Public Works

Department may also be an item of Unallocated Stores pending issue to various Departments. In' such Departments petrol would become an item of Consumable Stores.
