Section 63 — Quarantine and Prevention of Disease Act

(a)

prevents or attempts to prevent the port health officer from going on board any ship;

(b)

conceals from that officer the true state of the health of the crew or passengers or other persons on board any ship or any increase in the number of or mortality amongst the rats on board;

(c)

refuses to answer or gives an untrue answer to any inquiry made by the said officer under this Act;

(d)

fails to produce the journal or log and ship’s papers of any ship or any of them on demand to the said officer;

(e)

fails to present all persons on board for inspection and examination when required to do so by the said officer; or

(f)

prevents or attempts to prevent that officer from inspecting any part of the ship, shall be guilty of an offence: Penalty, a fine of $1,000.
