Section 19

Prison officers, other than subordinate officers, shall be subject to the General Orders for the time being in force and to the disciplinary provisions thereof.

All prison officers, other than subordinate officers, may be interdicted or suspended in accordance with the General Orders:

Provided that, if, in the opinion of the Director, it is essential in the interest of the security or discipline of the prison that a subordinate officer should cease forthwith to exercise the function of his office, the Director may interdict such officer from duty pending an investigation.
