Section 58
(1)
The Minister may, with the approval of His Majesty the Sultan and Yang
Di-Pertuan, make regulations prescribing the particulars to be entered in a crew agreement and the procedure to be followed in connection with the engagement and discharge of seamen from ships.
(2)
Without prejudice to the generality of subsection (1), the Minister may, with the approval of His Majesty the Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan, in the regulations, make provision -
{a} regarding the period of validity of a crew agreement and the circumstances under which it may be extended;
{b) requiring the engagement and discharge to be recorded, whether by entries in the crew agreement and discharge book or otherwise, and requiring copies of any such entry to be given to the Director;

(c)
requiring the posting in ships of copies of or extracts from crew agreements;
{d) for cases where a seaman employed on a ship is left behind otherwise than on being discharged from the ship; and
{e) requiring the crew agreement to be produced to the Director when the ship is in Brunei Darussalam.
