Section 8
(1)
Subject to the provisions of this Act, every original proprietor of land may subdivide that land in accordance with the provisions of this Act into —
Land Code (Strata)
(a)
2 or more principal units;
(b)
such number of accessory units, if any, as the registered proprietor may wish; and
(c)
common property, being so much of the land as is not comprised in any unit.
(2)
Notwithstanding anything in subsection (1), no land may be subdivided under this Act if the land is held by the original proprietor for a term of less than 20 years as at the date of certification of the strata plan by the Commissioner.
