Police to en-force surren-der
(1)
Except in the case provided for in section 31 the Government
Government shall be at liberty to withdraw from the ac-

quisition of any land of which possession has not been quisition taken.
(2)
Whenever the Government withdraws from any such acquisition the Land Officer shall determine the amount of compensation due for the damage, if any, done to such land under section 4 ( 1) or section 6 ( 1) and not already paid for under section 4 (2) and shall pay such amount to the person injured and shall pay to the persons interested all such costs as shall have been incurred by them by reason or in consequence of the proceedings for acquisi-tion together with compensation for the damage, if any, which they may have sustained by reason or in consequence of such proceedings.
(3)
The provisions of Part III shall apply so far as may be to the determination of the compensation payable under this section.
