(1)
Notwithstanding section 54, a man who has divorced his wife by pronouncing a talaq in whatever form outside the Court and without the permission of the Court, shall within 7 days report the pronouncement of talaq to the Court.
(2)
The Court shall hold a hearing to determine if the talaq has been validly pronounced in accordance with Hukum Syara’.
(3)
Where the Court is satisfied that the talaq has been validly pronounced in accordance with Hukum Syara’, the Court shall, subject to section 124, make an order confirming the divorce by talaq. The Court shall record the divorce and deliver a certified copy of the record to both the relevant Registrar and the Chief Registrar for registration.
