Section 119
(1)
Any officer authorised by the Collector or any senior officer of customs may compound any offence which is prescribed to be a compoundable offence by accepting from the person reasonably suspected of having committed the offence a sum not exceeding $1,000.
(2)
On payment of that sum, the person reasonably suspected of having committed an offence, if in custody, shall be discharged, any property seized shall be released and no further proceedings shall be taken against that person or property.
