Exemptions

Section 38
(1)
This Act does not apply to -
(a)
any bank licensed under the Banking Order, 2006
(S 4512006). Islamic Banking Order, 2008 (S 9612008) or
International Banking Order, 2000 (S 5312000);
(b)
any co-operative society registered under any law of Brunei
Darussalam; or
(c)
any business of pawnbroking carried on by a person licensed under the Pawnbrokers Order, 2002 (S 6012002).

Notwithstanding any provisions in this Act, the Minister with the approval of His Majesty the Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan, may exempt any finance company from any or all of the provisions of this Act.
