Appointment of Authority and authorised officers
of Energy Efficiency (Standards and Labelling) Act
(1)
The Minister may, with the consent of His Majesty the Sultan and
Yang Di-Pertuan, by notification published in the Gazette, appoint a person or body of persons to be the Authority for the purposes of this Act.
(2)
The Authority shall, subject to any general or special directions of the Minister, be responsible for the administration of this Act, and may exercise such powers as are conferred and perform such duties as are imposed on it by this Act.
(3)
The Authority may, with the approval of the Minister, by notification published in the Gazette, appoint any person to be an authorised officer to assist in the administration of this Act.
(4)
The Authority may, with the approval of the Minister, delegate the exercise of all or any of the powers conferred or duties imposed on it by this
Act (except the power of delegation conferred by this subsection) to any authorised officer, subject to such conditions or limitations as the Authority may specify.
