Offences under other written laws

Section 9
(1)
Subject to the other provisions of this Code, any offence under any other written law shall, when any Court is mentioned in this behalf in such written law, be tried by such Court.
(2)
When no Court is so mentioned, it may be tried by the High
Court or any other Court to which this Code applies:

Provided that no Court of a Magistrate shall by virtue of this subsection try an offence which is punishable with imprisonment for a term which may exceed 5 years.
