Application of certain provisions to instruments not being bills of exchange

Section 86
(1)
The provisions of this Act relating to crossed cheques shall, so far as applicable, have effect in relation to instruments (other than cheques)
to which section 85 applies as they have effect in relation to cheques.
(2)
Sections 87A, 87B (except subsection (5)) and 87C shall, so far as applicable, have effect in relation to an instrument referred to in section 85(2)(b) as they effect in relation to a cheque.

Sections 87A and 87C shall, so far as applicable, have effect in relation to an instrument referred to in section 85(2)(c) as they have effect in relation to a cheque.
