Detention of any animal that has bitten person
of Animal (Diseases and Quarantine) Act
(1)
An authorised officer or police officer may give directions requiring the owner or person in charge of any animal that has or is reasonably believed to have bitten any person to produce the animal at such place and time as he may determine.
(2)
If the owner or person in charge of the animal fails to comply with the directions given to him under subsection (1), the authorised officer or police officer may immediately take possession of the animal and remove it to an animal quarantine station.
(3)
Any person who fails without lawful excuse to comply with the directions given to him under subsection (1) is guilty of an offence and liable on conviction to a fine not exceeding $2,000.
