These Regulations may be cited as the Merchant Shipping
(Non-Convention Ships) Safety Regulations, 1984 and shall come into force on 1st. September, 1984.

Merchant Shipping (Non-Convention Ships) Safety Regulations, 1984
(Made under Section 217)
Opening note
These Regulations may be cited as the Merchant Shipping
(Non-Convention Ships) Safety Regulations, 1984 and shall come into force on 1st. September, 1984.
The Regulations specified in the Schedule to these Regulations shall subject to the provisions of paragraph 3 hereof be in force as written law in Brunei Darussalam as if the same had been expressly made by the Minister with the approval of His Majesty the Sultan and
Yang Di-Pertuan pursuant to the powers conferred by the provisions of Section 217 of the Merchant Shipping Enactment, 1982.
Until the said Regulations are printed and published in the
Government Gazette references therein to -
"Director" shall be construed as reference to the Director of Marine of Brunei Darussalam as defined under the
Merchant Shipping Enactment, 1982 ;
"The Merchant Shipping Act (Cap 172)" shall be construed as reference to the Merchant Shipping Enactment, 198? of
Brunei Darussalam , c)
"Republic of Singapore" of "Singapore" shall be construed as reference to Brunei Darussalam.

September 1984.
