ELECTRICITY (ELECTRICITY GENERATION LICENCE) (EXEMPTION) ORDER, 2023
Opening note
Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan, hereby makes the following Order-Citation and commencement
This Order may be cited as the Electricity !Electricity Generation Licence)
!Exemption) Order, 2023 and shall commence on the same date as the Electricity
Act.
Exemption from section 511){a/
Section 5i1){a/ does not apply to-
{a) any person who engages in the generation of electricity by means of a generating unit which has a name-plate rating of less than one megawatt;
any person who engages in the generation of electricity by means of a standby generating unit which -
is used solely to provide backup power in the event of interruption of electricity supply from the transmission or distribution system;
and
is not connected to and not operated in parallel with the transmission or distribution system.
Made this 8th. day of Rabiulakhir, 1445 Hijriah corresponding to the 23rd. day of October, 2023.
